Horatio Alger Association Scholarships, deadline is October 30, 2008.
Scholarships range in value from $1000 to $20,000. Students need to have a GPA of at least 2.0 and be involved in extra curricular and community activities. Financial need and considered. Go to: www.horatioalger.org/scholarships/apply.cfm for more information and to apply.
The 2009 IL PTA, Lillian E. Glover, Scholarship Program—Deadline December 1, 2008. Two scholarships in the amounts of $1,000 and $500 will be awarded in each of IL PTA’s 20 Districts. Eligibility: Upper 25% of class; and graduating senior preparing to enter an Education or Education related degree program. AXA Achievement Scholarships- Deadline Dec. 15, 2008.
This scholarship is for Students who demonstrate ambition, drive, determination
to set and reach goals, respect for self, family, and community and the ability

Illinois Electric
Cooperatives (IEC) Memorial Scholarship Program, deadline January 1, 2009. This scholarship is for a high school senior
that is a member of Egyptian Electric. Four
scholarships will be awarded to the son or daughter of an Electric cooperative
member. A fifth scholarship will go to
the son or daughter of an electric cooperative director or employee. The sixth and seventh scholarships will be

KFC Colonel’s
Scholars

The KFC Colonel’s Scholars Program was created in 2006 and
is dedicated to assisting students with financial need who plan to pursue a
bachelor’s degree at a public institution within their legal state of
residence. To qualify, a student must
be: Graduating High School Senior; maintaining a GPA of 2.75 or higher;
enrolling in a public college or university; pursuing a bachelor’s degree; and
a
