***Kindergarten Teacher:  Marissa Elementary School, effective August 2024***
 
Requirements:  Current and Valid License or appropriate endorsement.  
 
Salary/Benefits: In accordance with the CBA between the Marissa Board of Education and Marissa Education Association, the teacher will be placed at the proper Level (Education Experience from Bachelor's Degree and above) and Step (years of teaching) on the Salary Schedule reflecting their experience.  In addition to salary, the teacher may select a Health Insurance Plan or a $6,000.00 annual annuity.  The Employer-paid TRS contribution, Sick, Personal, and Bereavement paid leave are  provided in accordance to the contract.  Noteworthy:  Full-time MCUSD employees living outside of the district may utilize tuition-free waiver for their children to attend Marissa Schools (applicable fees apply).

***Food Service Director- effective for the 24-25 Schoolyear***
 
Responsibilities:  a) Plans/supervises the preparation and serving of menus, including breakfast and lunch programs; b) Supervises the overall safety and sanitation program of the service stations of food service; c) Determines personnel requirements for the department- interviews and recommends persons for hire when vacancies are to be filled; d) Purchases food, supplies, and equipment and develops procedures for proper receiving, storage, and distribution of such items; e) Maintains current nutritional trends or concepts and implements changes as needed to improve the school nutritional program; f) Assumes responsibility for preparing all reports regarding food services that are required by local, state, and federal agencies; g) Assist with various District events; h) Coordinate substitutes when personnel are absent; i) Performs such other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the Superintendent.
 
Qualifications: Successful applicant should have a combination of the following: a) degree in Food Service Management; b) certification as a Nutrition Service Specialist or registered dietician; c) minimum of three years experience in school district food service operations, including meal planning and preparations; d) clearance of Criminal History Background Check.  (Note: Any/All qualifications are subject to be addressed in continued education opportunities)

***Maintenance/Grounds Support Position- effective immediately***
 
Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to): a) mowing, weed-eating, and the overall cleanliness of the grounds of the district; b) assisting Maintenance/Grounds Director on larger projects throughout the district; c)  assisting with and/or maintaining the athletic fields of the district; d) assisting head custodian or custodian on duty on projects at the school facilities; e) delivery of mail/packages from District Office to facilities in the district; f) Performs such other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the Superintendent. 
 
Qualifications: Successful applicant should have a combination of the following: a) good work ethic; b) teamwork mentality; c) ability to work independently; d) attention to detail to complete a job well-done; e) capacity to report concerns to Maintenance Director/Administration regarding potential liability issues; f) pride in self, co-workers, district facilities; g) a positive and effective means of communication with co-workers, teachers, staff and students of Marissa CUSD #40; h) clearance of Criminal History Background Check.  
 
Salary/Benefits: This is a Full-Time 1.0 FTE Position, 260 days/year, 40 hours/week.  Salary to be negotiated (no less than $15/hr.), commensurate to work-related experience. In addition to salary, a Health Insurance Plan or $6,000.00 annual annuity shall be provided.  The Employer-paid IMRF contribution, Sick, Personal, and Bereavement paid leave are provided; paid holidays and vacation leave also provided.  Noteworthy:  Full-time MCUSD employees living outside of the district may utilize tuition-free waiver for their children to attend Marissa Schools (applicable fees apply).
