Job Shadowning

Marissa 40 believes an essential element of the program will be mentoring by successful role models as well as job shadowing. To accomplish these goals, we will be working with the local Chamber of Commerce as well as the Prairie State Energy Complex. These partners will provide opportunities for our students to job shadow as well as to be assigned individuals to mentor our youth. The opportunity to observe as well as engage with successful mentors will provide our students with much needed role models. Through job shadowing, it is our goal for students to become more interested in their studies, prompting better performance and attendance as a means to become successful academically.

Currently, the Marissa Chamber of Commerce and Prairie State Energy Complex is supporting our program. They have issued a letter of support and continue to meet with the committee to find ways to support these students through their businesses.
