About Me
My name is Caitlin Pflasterer. I am the Student Support Specialist - aka School Counselor - at Marissa Elementary. I am so excited to start working with our students and their families!
Education and Experience
I am a New Athens High School graduate. I received my Bachelor's in Psychology from Saint Louis University and my Master’s in Education in Clinical Mental Health at the University of Missouri - St. Louis. Since graduate school, I’ve taken additional teaching and school counseling courses. I’ve been working in the mental health field since 2012. Since that time, I worked in a community mental health setting, foster care, and private practice. I have had the privilege to work with a variety of clientele, including children, adolescents, adults, and families, helping to meet many different counseling needs. I am a trauma specialist and Registered Play Therapist. My counseling students know that we work to meet our goals but we have fun along the way!
