What is NHS?
NHS is an academic organization to honor students who exhibit scholarship, leadership, character and service.

What is the purpose of NHS?
To promote service through volunteering and mentoring in campus and community related projects.

Membership:
Students with a 3.5 GPA or higher are eligible to be considered for membership. Students who meet this academic standard will receive a Candidate Activity Information Packet to provide further information about their Leadership, Character, and Service.

The entire faculty at MJSHS will have the opportunity to provide feedback about each candidate's leadership, service, and character.

A 5-member Faculty Council will meet to review each student's Candidate Activity Information Packet and their Faculty Evaluation. They will discuss whether each candidate meets the Standards of leadership, character, and service. (Found below under Selection Procedures and Standards.)
